Hello and thank you for reading about us.  GoldStarFlags.com is operated by Serviceflags.com, Inc. We are a family owned business location in Carson City, Nevada (the Battle Born state).  After our Dad passed away in 1998, we found in his collection several Service flags  and researched their significance and historical value.  During that search, we discovered that the Service Flag is a national symbol governed by the DoD, and when it is authorized to be flown.

After 9/11 and the war against terrorism began, we wanted to revive the tradition of displaying Service flags because of the patriotic call we were all challenged to perform in those days following the attack.  We looked up the DoD regulation governing the Service flag and contacted the entity designated to authorize the manufacture and sale of the Service flag. We became the first company authorized to manufacture and sell the Service Flag after the war on terror began. Our flags are made to DoD specifications on our premises in Carson City.

Sadly, we were contacted less than a month after launching our website for a Gold Star Flag. We had previously made arrangements with the national chapter of the Blue Star Mothers of America, to give a donation of $1 per flag sold to their organization. We contacted them and worked out an arrangement so that the donation would be used to pay for the raw materials to make the gold star flag, and the cost to ship them, and the Blue Star Mothers would, when available, present them to the family at no cost. We continue to provide them to the parents or spouses of fallen servicemen and women at no cost to this day.

This site was created because of numerous requests for other Gold Star products. The prices of the Gold Star products on this site are below normal retail pricing. None of the products are intended to be re-sold at a higher price, except when purchased by gold star organizations for fundraisers. We ask that this policy be respected and these products not be purchased for re-sale to gold star families at a higher price.
